Isn't it more interesting (and simpler and cheaper) to sample the sounds of the MP7 rather than to "midify" the unit? :?:

Or maybe you can control certain parameters in realtime in a way not possible with samples? :?

Nop. First because the result from a sampler sounds too static, second each MP7 produces (less or more) hum or noise. If you sample that too, you´ll get hum or noise-overlays. Not that hum our noise can´t be removed with software, but that is always a destructive procedure.

I leave this thread to real purists then :mryellow: Though I'm not sure someone even with the best headphones (and ears) on earth could tell the difference in a mix with several instruments, effects, compression, eq, etc. :wink:

Though I have no idea how much noise the MP7 produces. Maybe it can be annoying indeed.

Purists will notice the difference between a real and sampled minipops. I've been told the real minipops has a certain swing to it - the sound varies slightly everytime. Analog circuitry and all that.

You can apply random variations on a sample (the easiest to do being pitch).

I'm sure people would be able to tell the difference if they listen to a recording of the Minipops alone and then of the samples alone. But in a mix with other instruments, I'm not that sure...

Whow... two jackets and maybe a NE555 and some caps/resistors for a overall worth of €2.50=making €185? Not bad. Easy earned money. There one appeals to the stupidity of the customers. But not, as long as - I - am here.

Looks good until now. the chip works up to 500 bpm (with additional clock out enabled on the sequencer) fired with 400 notes without problems (ok, at 500 bpm and 400 notes at 4/4 you get a delay of ca 0.5 seconds because of flushing the buffer, but who sends that amount of data at 500 bpm...). I have now programmed 15 outputs which take action on note on/off (on the depending note itself); maybe two pins for additional clock-out (12/24 ppq) would be also possible. A additional pin for start/stop is for sure possible.
