Ok, well i have listened to the album over the past week and it gives you a sense of fun, experimental,old times,complex,new age, new future. I hate to say it but if you are a musician as i am you need to listen closely to Infinity ( Movement 6 ). It has depth and it takes the listener on a journey. It is part of what Jean Michel was all about through his career. Happy listening everyone.

Absolutely. The problem with some fans here, they want only hear old and always the same music… Equinoxe was good in that time (1978) then it was new. I think if most fans here lived in the '70ies they even don't like the music of Jarre at that moment. I'm pretty sure of this. I know the music of JMJ since Oxygene in 1976. Most here wenren't born yet or never heard of JMJ. I still have my original first pressing record of oxygene(Motors) that I bought in 1976 when it was new. I'm not a fan anymore of Jarre but I follow him what kind of music he these days make.

That is exactely what I mean. The music is the music of today. Not the ever whining Vangelis,... and other old dust stuff. That kind of music is old, boring and obselete. Jarre is a pop artist and not a boring old skool synthesiser music artist.

The 4-tone-bass-sequence of Movement 9 is close to the Dutch program "Opsporing gezocht": and is a very interesting track. At least in my top 4 of the entire album.

First thoughts:

- Yay, no Akropolis!*

- I'm glad that of all people, JMJ himself avoided including a "Equinoxe 4"-a-like track in the Equinoxe sequel (those kind of tracks seem to be a kind of a cliché in those fan sequels). That said, in a sense it's both a shame and ingenious that there's no Eminent plucks to be heard anywhere on the album

- Merely evoking the imagery of the Equinoxe 5-6-7 "continuous hypersequence" in Movement 7-8 instead of making a straight-up "Equinoxe 7"-a-like track is also a nice touch, and the transition from Movement 7 and 8 works very well IMO

- Movements 5 and 7 seem a bit like their full potential wasn't brought out, but the former in particular serves as a sort of a Chronologie 7 for this album

- Hoping for a Roland D-50 version (KOKUBOSTRINGS et al) of Movement 9 at some point

I'd say that this is his overall best album since Oxygene 7-13, regardless.

* = That said, he should revisit/re-release Paris Bourges wink wink
