Wow...it's like Zoolook all over again. :P

The Time Machine, Close Your Eyes, Automatic, Immortals, Zero Gravity, Stardust & A Question of Blood are my defenitive favourites so far. Suns Have Gone and TT&T River are ok too, but not quite up there yet.
If I didn't liked Glory earlier it was absolutely nothing compared to when I'm listening to this track on the CD. OMG it sounds awful. It's like listening through a telephone line with too much bass in it.
I had to turn on the artificial digital DR-enhancement in my Marantz and use all the 1000 watts in the system and then, only then I came close to the vinyl.
I'm absolutely blown away by the track Immortals! I simply can not get enough of it...and I'm not sure why.

Yes, just checked the transition between Close Your Eyes and Automatic, it shows the JMJ portrait.

Oh, they already did. In the 80s. It was called CD.
And what a lousy job they did. ;)
Although it wasn't really until around the millennium as the loudness madness kicked in for real.
One of the evidences new CD vs old CD are in the "Best Jarre album editions" thread.

I actually decoded it yesterday but didn't want to give spoilers.

So far I've been unsuccessful trying to decode the two 32-bit strings though.

Jean-Michel Jarre in the Echoes Podcast - Listen to the Jean Michel Jarre interview - October 2015

Legendary French electronic musician Jean-Michel Jarre has his first album in 8 years and perhaps his best since 1984’s Zoolook. Jarre is renowned for his best-selling debut Oxygene in 1976.

The son of famed film composer Maurice Jarre and a student of French musique concrete pioneer Pierre Schaeffer, Jarre is steeped in the lineage of electronic music. So on his new album, Electronica 1: The Time Machine, he creates his own trip through electronic history, collaborating with contemporaries like Tangerine Dream, electronica artists M83, Moby, Massive Attack and Air and techno artist Armin Van Buren. In an exclusive interview, Jean-Michel Jarre plugs us in to an electronic history lesson.

So the latest album releases are nr. 10 & 11 featuring JMJ's own face on the cover.
Did I forgot some? :)

My vinyl gatefold copy of "The Time Machine" arrived today on 'Back to the Future day' (without the deLorean)

Ok so own up who has had any sensations of AMSR (head/ear/spine tingles) during Electronica ?

I find some of the sounds/music challenging to listen to like the beginning of "Close your eyes". It's like tinnitus.
Some of my favourite pieces of music are almost too painful to listen to eg the rubber band sounds in Royksopp's Monument (The inevitable end version). But in a GOOD way. They create a physical reaction/response.

Art and music are supposed to challenge your senses sometimes and Electronica certainly does for me.....
I'm still listening to it properly on headphones for the first time, and am discovering more.
