It's a tribute to Francis Dreyfus.
Last I checked, Chronologie was originally released by Dreyfus, he could have included one track from it.

I really do hope that the rarities disc is a taster of something BIGGER to follow in the not so distant future - a full blown boxset of rarities, hits and 12 inches.

Then again, I'm hoping to win the big'un on the lottery :|

We could always ask Jarre after a concert if he is planning on something bigger, I highly doubt they just remasterd just those couple of tracks from Deserted Palace and left the rest to collect dust

I've just seen this on the Facebook page:

"Pre order the digital HD Masters on Qobuz - MP3/LOSSLESS or Studio Masters (96Khz 24bits)"

I don't read much French, so does the Qobuz site state if the downloadable lossless tracks will be 96Khz @ 24bits? also, does it state which lossless format (WAV/APE/FLAC)?

YES at last!! Maybe he saw my posts here requesting this? ;)
It is not WAV, it is FLAC or WMA.

But is it only Rarities and not Essentials ???? WHY? :(

Here is a google - translated page explaining the Studio Master this site sells:

- start -

All music in quality Masters Studio Thanks to the work completed upstream with the studios of recording, and in collaboration with increasingly many, independent labels and now majors, (Further Music, Bee Jaz, Ambronay Editions, Guy Zag Territories, ECM, Mirare, Aeolus, Ondine, Winter & Winter, Laborie etc), Qobuz.com propose more and more innovations and an increasing selection of its funds of catalogue in quality “Qobuz Studio Masters*”. These albums reproduce with identical the sound provided by the studio of recording in exit of console, and offer a comfort of listening unequalled, quite higher than that of CD (generally “reduced” for the mastering in 44.1 Khz/16 bits). On Qobuz.com, the files " Qobuz Masters" Studio; are readable without DRM and are 100% compatible Mac and PC (Attention: A limitation of Apple prevents quality Studio Masters d' to be transferred towards a iPod, iPhone or iPad. But it will be possible for you to download a version Qualité CD of your purchase since " My Compte" who could be used on your Apple walkman.). Far from the step of all-MP3 which developed these last years with the detriment of sound quality, Qobuz joins again thus with sound requirement to make profit the music lovers all at the same time from the comfort of the online music and requirement audiophile. This revolutionary offer makes it possible to also approach the universe of the artists in a new way. Indeed, l' album downloaded in quality Studio Master is accompanied most of the time by a booklet to format pdf conceived for an optimal posting with the screen.

WARNING We specify that the albums sold by Qobuz in " quality; Qobuz Masters" Studio; we are provided by the labels directly and specifically. They are not D-encodés since SACD of the trade. We guarantee their direct source, and we prohibit ourselves, to enlarge more quickly this offer.

- end -

1. They are not SACD digital equivalent
2. Still no word of what format (WAV,FLAC, etc.) only that they are 96kHz/24bit - that'll do me nicely!
