5 is fairly awful but a lot less painful than 2, a real cheese-fest. The rest of the album is sublime though, love it, one of his best.

It's probably true-ish but regardless it's IMO one of his best albums and certainly the best live one. I think it's wonderful but wouldn't have surprised me if it had been too 'out there' for the audience to really understand.

Personally I think JMJ has lost his way. He has become a 'was' rather than a 'is'. Shame really because the fans are suffering because of the outcome. It is almost like Jarre is disappearing into the background instead of being the forerunner.

The Spectrasonics plug-ins are really second to none for being excellent at covering all bases and being very powerful and easy to use. They've always been my go-to synths for most productions.

To spend $millions on a free concert for such a niche musician is a tall order. They could put on a big concert festival with many current popular artists, charge people to go and get a much bigger interest and return of investment. if Jarre played Perth or anywhere it's unlikely to get a single ...

You'll have an impedance mismatch using the headphone output, it'll work but wouldn't sound a good as modding in a proper line-out.

Logic sounds are great, the only areas I've found that are lacking is the reverbs and compressors. I still use almost everything else. I think the whole suite is fantastic and offers great value, personally I don't think another DAW can compare.

Logic 9 is great as you can run it in 64-bit mode ...

I agree TBH, if I wanted it to sound like JMJ there's a lot I could have done rather than just add in a (Small Stone) phaser.

Still, if someone likes it then the effort was not wasted.

I've recently been invited to do an album with the motivation that it sounds like early 1980's Tangerine Dream. Still got a long way to go but one demo section that I submitted got rejected for sounding too much like Jarre and not enough like TD. (was possibly the use of a phaser)

There was a review in Sound on Sound which summed it up nicely, stating that the biggest problem with the new workstation is that it is called a Jupiter, as it sets too many expectations and therefore disappoints.

I've had a good play with one, they sound nice, but in a generic Roland workstation ...
