I can't see the harm; it's not like they are losing money as there are no official releases that are still worth mentioning.

On that subject, I once found some camcorder footage on YouTube of the docklands concert filmed from canning town rec, this has gone, does anybody know if it is still online ...

Yes, they seem to have cleaned up Ethnicolor. At least those most obvious glitches seem to be gone. I'm not hearing the clicks either.

After zoolook, high quality analogue recording became a bit of a moot point as far as jarre went as most of what he was doing was in the digital realm, D50s, fairlights ...

I have just compared the 40th edition to my remaster and this is the result. They are seriously taking the piss.

And why not just stick to the original then...? Genuinely asking: what was the idea behind your remaster?

Have a gander at this if you like, I remastered zoolook a few years ago using reason and this is what I came up with.

It is from the West German original release, and I have kept it at 44/24, so as not introduce too ...

I have the 48/24 file from that release i think and it was reasonable

IIRC they ultimately fixed it, but there was like a tape speed fluctuation effect on it. There's a 31-page long thread about those remasters here. And here's a sneak peek (from 0:48)

Then you must have missed the Rendez-Vous remaster from 2014 (IIRC) :)


I have the 48/24 file from that release i think and it was reasonable, considering that they magically made a 48/24 from a 44/16 master. but there it is.

Who on earth passed this through quality control!?!?! It is seriously FUBAR. It's just not sellable, give it away, maybe.

I've never heard anything this bad, I don't know if they can airbrush out the glitches, or if it is too far gone for the DAT master.

The mastering is actually quite good ...
