Fantastic cover! You really got all the elements correct, very accurate mix, and great sound. It's immediately apparent that this really took a lot of effort in getting it right.

That's not very accurate, as Fifth Rendez Vous main melody was clearly made almost entirely with the DS 250.

Yes, I have. I can tell that Arp 2600 was definitely the instrument used for that sequence.

I heard a lot of very nice covers but no one who gets this famous lead closer as original one.


It's not a very complicated sound to recreate, but it's hard to judge and compare without the rest of the instruments and effects playing, since sounds tend to sound very different when played dry ...

Same thing for the bass sequence, no idea how it has been sequenced (for now....). For the bass part I have slowdowned the original track by 50%, listenned to it and wrote the sequence note after note until I got something very close (very complicated to have the exact same sequence).

How you have created the "sonore" sound ? Can you give more details ?


It was some PWM patch I used with Xerxes, then EQd to hell and back. I'll need to look for it, not sure if I actually saved it. It was used with a prototype synth at that time and some of the parameters had changed since that.

Seiko DS-250, it is a preset. You can find a Kontakt library for this synth and you have all presets.


I have the DS-250, no presets come even close to that sound. I also have the DS-310 programmer for it, and it's not capable of producing this timbre.
