Blah Blah Cafe, the Jean-Michel Jarre forum

I have this album on repeat play. I cannot get enough of it. I have not done that with a Jarre album for many years (as a new release).

I know you've been quite outspoken in the past about how disgruntled you've been. I therefore hope that this album has restored your faith a little.

Nope. Doesn't do anything for me.

I must admit I'm surprised. Jarre knows what his established fan base think of Teo and Tea and he's admitted it was a bit of a mistake himself. Of course, as an artist he's free to do as he pleases, but to continue to plough the same "Teo & Tea" furrow?

Surely not ...

It's a real shame.

The quality of the cover suggests the content has been rushed too.

It would have really benefitted from Jarre having a hand in it.

If he did have a hand in it then I fear he doesn't place a lot of emphasis on quality anymore.

He should have brought Geiss in to oversee this...

It seems to me that this is paying lip service to a back catalogue the associate parties want to maintain control of because of the copyright expiry issue.

I reckon that they've tried to consider the potential market for such material...

I think he should release the albums (if two we consider) in a several months gap time (e.g. Téo&Téa/Oxygène 3D), so he can maximize publicity over the whole year.

Slightly off topic, but don't you think the Oxygene 3D release was to "make up" for where he went wrong. He ...

I don't think Jarre needs a new album to be a hit. Any new album would be delivered to his large fan base to support another tour (where the real money is these days) and additional take up would come from those "non-fans" with more than a passing interest in electronic music.
