Thanks for all the responses people.

Finaero, yes. When I saw him at Marigny Paris in 2007 and the bass kicked in at the start of Oxy1 it was incredible. Such a strong chill. I had this feeling that I'd been waiting all my life to hear that moment.

Do you get 'chills' when listening to JMJ

How many of your have experienced chills, shivers down your spine, hairs standing on end, etc. when listening to any piece of JMJ's music? It's usually a short lived experience, maybe the transition between one section and another, the entry of a main melody, a sudden change in key or volume.

Dissapointing Oxygene Remaster - 24bit 96KHz

Thought I'd invest in the hi-res files through the Qobuz site.

Does anyone else think that the compression is horrid throughout the album. They didn't need to squash the dynamic range at all, that's the point of mastering at such high sample rates, plus it should only be used to control wayward ...

I just saw that. I only got half way through it at the weekend. Didn't the IMS people themselves put it up. I'll send them a message via their YouTube account and see if they will put it back up.
It is back on YouTube:

Mix engineer on Oxygene has a credit on Daft Punk album

Jean-Pierre Janiaud has a credit as a technical advisor on Random Access Memories. This is probably because some of the recording was done at Gang studio.

I'd like to find out more about what role Jean-Pierre had on the mixing of Oxy/Equ/MF. What the process of mixing was.

Is he a permanent addition do we think? I must admit, he didn't seem to be adding much. They need to pull back a lot more of the drum machines to let him add some real energy and dynamics. All we need now is Christophe Papendiek on bass and we're there.

Why in Oxygene 12 is the lead line out of sync with everything else by a beat? Maybe there was a problem with the instrument or some sort of latency with monitoring
